From the brochure:-
THE DOUBLET, deep and distinctive.
Deep, tight bass performance and pin-point accuracy. These are some of the excellent qualities that lie beneath The Doublet’s good looking but compact exterior.Partnered with a complimentary amplifier The Doublet is capable of truly devastating results combining that powerful bass with a detailed and smooth midrange. Designed to fill the gap in the floorstander range we have produced a loudspeaker that employs the engineering advances of the Minstrel but with more depth, sophistication and power. Each cabinet contains two five inch bass units separately housed within their own reflex enclosures. Mirrored side bass ports allows personal room tailoring.
The Doublet can he bi-wired and the cabinets are available in three finishes. They also come supplied with their own black wood bases which are fitted with three spikes, allowing easy adjustment on uneven floors.

Price guide: originally retailed for £449 in ’95. These days, they crop up from time to time, however many have non working drivers/tweeters, probably due to the number of them. For a pair in good working order and condition, expect to pay £200-250, whilst damaged pairs only go for around £100. Two pairs in good condition sold on ebay for £341 and £211 in Feb 2013, both collection only.
